I was recently introduced to Grammaropolis, which helps elementary students learn the parts of speech. Grammaropolis was created by a teacher. The Mayor of Grammaropolis' secret identity is as Coert Voorhees, who teaches 7th grade grammar. I received the 3rd book in the parts of speech series Grammaropolis presents Vinny the Action Verb & Lucy the Linking Verb and the "Doctor Noize and the Mayor Present: Grammaropolis". The book gives the kids a storyline to follow while showing them how to use correct grammar. The story is cute and easy to follow while explaining the differences between action verbs and linking verbs. The CD has 21 tracks on it. Each part of speech has a song. My kids were really interested in the book and CD.
To make it even easier for the kids to get the help they need, they can use the grammaropoli.com website. Is your child having problems with grammar? This is the site you have been looking for. Even if they aren't, this site can give them a extra boost they need to get ahead. The site offers books, videos, quizzes, games and a shop. There is also fun music to listen to. You are able to track your child's progress while they are learning about the different parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, conjunctions, prepositions, and interjections). No the site is not free, but is very reasonably priced and you can have up to 5 kids on your account. You can't put a price on your child getting ahead in school.
Grammaropolis is great for students, parents, homeschoolers, teachers, and, well, pretty much everyone! Be sure to check out their website to see for yourself and follow them on facebook and twitter to keep up with all the updates!
Two lucky winners will each receive the CD, one of the parts of speech books, and a Lifetime membership to the Grammaropolis website. Enter on the rafflecopter below for your chance to win. Good luck! Open to US residents only.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free to facilitate my review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
